Those are rather permanent destinations, carved into the stone...wonder if anyone thought that at some point in the future they might no longer exist.

I'm just being silly.

Glad you posted this 'cause I don't remember seeing this either at the Orsay. I think I was too busy taking pictures of nude statues. ;-)
