Do you think they really looked like that? Probably. Scary! I was at the Colosseum in 1957...wonder if it has changed much.

Did you notice that the man in the red cape has a really bad scar on his left calf and the guy wearing the helmet does appear to have a hook arm.....interesting.

Hah! I have one of these guys walking home near the Victor Immanuel monument, but your pic is better. The one on the left looks like he might want to use that sword.

P.S. I expect that the scar may have more to do with a motorbike than with a lion or weapon.

I've always meant to ask - why are those guys there? I've never been to Rome, so I've only seen them in photos.
