A small island few meters off the coast of Üsküdar in Istanbul, I think it is now a restaurant.

Great photo of the Maidens Tower. This place I actually know something about. There's a story about a maiden being placed there by her father the Sultan to protect against snakes, because an oracle had prophetised that a snake would kill her on her 18th birthday. In a fruit basket given her on her 18th birthday an asp lay hidden. It bit her and she died. Actually it was build in 408BC to control the Bosphorus and later enlarged and renovated.
