“‘Consigne à vie’ is a work by the French artist Arman located in Paris, France. The work consists of an accumulation of bronze suitcases. A signatory of the founding declaration of Nouveau Réalisme, which advocated a return to reality, Arman accumulated everyday, familiar, and sentimental objects. The artwork is installed in the Cour de Rome at the Saint-Lazare train station. ‘Consigne à vie’ (Checked Luggage for a Lifetime) is a work by Arman created in 1985. Commissioned by the French government (Ministry of Culture and Communication - National Center for Visual Arts), it was installed that year in the Cour de Rome of the Saint-Lazare train station. A second work by Arman, ‘L'Heure de tous’ (Everyone's Hour), is located in the Cour du Havre of the Saint-Lazare train station.” (Consigne à vie, Wikipedia)
