P.S.: That's the 2nd time that you've said that Porchefontaine sounds like a foul word in Italian and I'm trying to figure out what it is. Porche, in French, is porch and fontaine of course is fountain. Now porc would be pig and porcherie pigsty but fontana?
@ ciel - You are on the right track about the first part and a good (angry and foul mouthed) Tuscan could place almost anything after that: Saints, people and things. Typical is porca miseria (poverty is a pig).
Well composed, VP. Rather incredible. One wonders how they were able to do such intricate work up so high...
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful, and the lighting on the coffers is very nice. As Jacob says, the composition is interesting, too. I like where you cropped it.
ReplyDeleteThe dome does make a fine photo.

ReplyDeleteWow, terrific!
ReplyDeleteWhich reminds me that Rome wasn't built in one day and that there are so many places I've never yet seen.
