    This is a very powerful sculpture/monument. I'm going to show my ignorance, but what is the thing growing up and crowning his head?

    @ Jacob - Wikipedia says: The stylized willow over Chopin's seated figure echoes a pianist's hand and fingers.

    Jacob - willows were very important for Chopin since they were inseparable part of central Poland's landscape:)
