Statue of Bernard Palissy by Louis-Ernest Barrias, 1880
Square Félix-Desruelles
Boulevard Saint-Germain
Quartier Saint-Germain-des-Prés, 6th arrondissement
Paris, July 2009
Jolie composition de photo. I used to live in the 5th when I was a student so I do know it a little bit better than most of that big neighbouring city! ;-)
Delighful tour from your earlier posts--and this photo of the Barrias statute is so nicely composed. I'll be reading more about both artist and potter--thanks for sharing a bit of history!
I know nothing about Bernard Palissy, or Barrias, but I like the statue and I really like the way you put the shot together.
ReplyDeleteThat's some very nice statuary or carving in the background, too.
Very nice. I love the subtle colour of the tiles in the background.

ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful photo and a beautiful monument. Who would have expected those colors? I love it! (And I've never been to that square.)
