This is actually a little creepy. I thought it was Madame Tussaud's! Thanks for the explanation; it certainly has a lot of meaning for many people and is something you don't see every day. I saw one grotto, and it was in Sicily. It was more theatrical than real, so I would have been very confused if you hadn't said what it was!
