I have such mixed feelings seeing this. I like it as some kind of adaptive thing, but aside from the convenience of their bathrooms, I hate seeing McD taking up the space of local establishments. Well, what are we doing in the US as everywhere? Demolishing regionalisim. I hate that. But in this case they tried to adapt. One day the world will be a theme park. Excellent and curious subject!
. . . but it's Germany in Paris, unless there's some part of Alsace-Lorraine that looks like this? "Curiouser and curiouser." I think it was Alice that said that, or maybe the White Rabbit.
This Alsatian kitsch was once Le royaume de la bière (The Kingdom of Beer). I still can count eveywhere ten bad 'pizzerias' or worse 'caffe' and 'ristorante italiano' for each poor McDonalds, so I am not much worried about this. At least they serve the same thing everywhere, not fancy imitations of the real thing.
This is super cool. McDonalds has some amazing locations around the world. I'm not a big fan of their burgers, but they can come in handy when you're in a foreign land and unsure where to eat or not in the mood to take a chance with the local cuisine.
Is it only design for Paris?
ReplyDeleteWe can't see that style of Mac in Japan! But so nice!!

ReplyDeleteI share my feelings with Tapirgal, but it makes a really cool photo.

Isn't it surprising how many bad pizzerias there are?
