“Le sale verre de la peur” bar
“Le Grand Répertoire”, Grand Palais
Avenue du Général-Eisenhower
Quartier des Champs-Élysées, 8th arrondissement
Paris, July 2006
Le salaire de la peur (The wages of Fear) is a 1953 movie by Henri-Georges Clouzot, remade in 1977 by William Friedkin as Sorcerer. In both movies desperate men transport explosives on trucks through the jungle. Le sale verre de la peur sounds about the same of the first movie title but means 'the dirty glass of fear', funny name for a bar in a truck.
Un train peut en cacher un autre.
ReplyDeleteThat seems a wonderful bar...I hate to show my ignorance, but what is "Clouzot"? Not the famous Clouseau?
ReplyDeleteSorry, VP, I don't know enough to appreciate the irony of the photo!
